The Scottish Industrial Railway Centre at Dunaskin will be open on Sunday 28st August, and also Sunday 25th September, from 11am - 4pm. Our steam locomotive, NCB No. 10, will operate the passenger service using our specially adapted brakevan over a short length of the former Dalmellington Iron Company's main line. See "Steam Days" for a complete list of when we're open to the public.
On Sunday 28st August and Sunday 25th September, we will have two locomotives in steam - NCB No. 10 and our unusual fireless engine, which was donated by Shell UK Ltd, and came from the Oil Refinery at Ardrossan. It is the only working example of this type of engine in the UK.
The souvenir shop will be open for business and the tearoom will be providing much needed refreshments, such as teas, coffees, soft drinks, confectionery, sandwiches, etc.
