We welcome all volunteers and donations, whether you are an individual or part of a larger corporation or group.
The Scottish Industrial Railway Centre is run and operated by the Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group.
If you'd like to help us out, the first step is to become a ARPG member, so that we can ensure we meet all insurance and health and safety obligations
(see below for current rates).
Do you have experience in: Engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil, railway); Diesel engines; Workshop practice; Buildings maintenance; Joinery; Painting and decorating; Gardening or landscaping; First aid; Health and safety; Catering; Sales; Legal or Finance?
If so, we'd be delighted to meet you. Something else? You'd still be most welcome.
In return we offer experience or training in locomotive and rolling stock restoration and maintenance, track and site work, railway operation, shop and cafe sales, guard duties and a chance to participate in footplate work, including driving and firing our locomotives. All activities are open to men and women, but some are restricted to those over 18 years of age.
The Scottish Industrial Railway Centre is operated by volunteers from the Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group, Charity Number SC 016127.

Membership rates for 2017 are:
ADULT, ordinary: £20.00, concession: £16.00,
FAMILY, ordinary: £30.00, concession: £25.00.
We'll do our best to match you with your existing skills and experience, or with the type of activity you would like to take part in. Click on the grey "Membership Application Form" when a file will open with the current ARPG membership application form. Print off the form, fill in your details, and send completed with your payment to Mrs Catriona Thom, Membership Sercretary, 38 Ashgrove Street, Ayr, KA7 3BG. Cheques and Postal Orders should be made payable to Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group.
